Napoli’s star winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia remains unavailable despite Chelsea’s pursuit
Popular Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has ruined Chelsea fans’ hopes of signing Napoli’s rising star, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, during the upcoming January transfer window.
Despite prior doubts of a potential €100 million (£85.6 million) purchase, Romano has officially said in his the latest Substack reveal that Kvaratskhelia is not for sale, therefore putting a halt to any immediate move.
The 22-year-old Georgian winger has been drawing attention with his excellent ball abilities. His capacity to contribute to goals, as evidenced by his 22 goal involvements in the previous Serie A season, has rightly made him a sought-after commodity on the transfer market.
While Chelsea is still keen on Kvaratskhelia’s Napoli teammate Victor Osimhen, who Napoli is reluctant to split ways with, the Blues could face difficulties in securing both players in the same transfer window. Osimhen, the Nigerian striker, was instrumental in Napoli’s win last season, scoring 31 goals.
Although Romano’s release may be depressing for Chelsea supporters, there is still hope for a summer transfer. However, it looks unlikely that Napoli will part ways with both Kvaratskhelia and Osimhen in the same transfer window, providing a strategic obstacle for the London-based club in their pursue of these sought talents.
