Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain unveils surprise favorite in Liverpool’s current squad
Former Liverpool midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who is now playing for Besiktas in Turkey, has revealed his outstanding player from the current Liverpool squad this season.
Oxlade-Chamberlain is a close observer of his former team’s uses despite his new experience on the Turkish football scene.
In an exclusive interview with Sky Sports, the 30-year-old expressed admiration for a specific Liverpool player and heaped praise on him.
“I mean, obviously, I watch a lot of Liverpool games,” Oxlade-Chamberlain admitted. “The usuals: Mo Salah still scoring those goals. I’ve really enjoyed watching Dominik Szoboszlai.
He’s sort of taken over from my sort of role and I’m really impressed with how good of a player he is and that he plays the game, how I sort of always want to play the game.
“I think he’s got so much ability, physicality and just his character as a player. I think he’s just what we needed in there. He’s been really, really good. Trent tells me a lot how good he is as well. Trent says his shots are better than mine. He’s got everything.
“I know what the other guys that I’ve played with are capable of so it was more interesting to see the new lads come in, what they can do. I’ve enjoyed watching him.”
While Oxlade-Chamberlain had previously expressed disappointment at his departure from Anfield, his most recent remarks reflect a sportsman’s true love for talent.
Known for his upbeat and supportive personality throughout his time with the Reds, Oxlade-Chamberlain’s excitement shines through as he praises his chosen star player’s abilities.
The Besiktas midfielder avoided getting personal, instead focusing on the on-field excellence of the Liverpool player who has made a lasting impression on him this season.
Oxlade-Chamberlain’s remark adds an intriguing aspect to the ongoing story surrounding Liverpool, causing surprise and curiosity in the minds of fans trying to figure out who his preferred player is.
