Roman Abramovich will pull the trigger if fans turn against him

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich will only sack Jose Mourinho if the fans start turning against him, according to reports.

The Blues have had a nightmare start to their title defence, losing six games in the Premier League already, including against Manchester City and Liverpool.

However, Abramovich has yet to pull the trigger like he famously does, and it’s been revealed why he’s yet to sack Mourinho.

According to reports, the Russian owner will only sack the Portuguese if the Chelsea fans start turning against him, which as of yet, hasn’t happened.

The Chelsea fans were heard chanting Mourinho’s name before, during and even after the club’s 3-1 loss at Stamford Bridge to Liverpool on Saturday, and that is what’s keeping him in the job.

Emergency Meetings

Abramovich and Mourinho have held a couple of emergency meetings, and it’s believed the last one, which took place on Saturday, resulted in the owner telling the manager he has two games to save his job.

With time nearing the end for Mourinho’s second stint at Chelsea, it could be the fans that keeps him in the job for longer.

Dynamo Kiev and Stoke City are the two games Mourinho has to save his job, and he’s banned from the Britannia Stadium for the game at the weekend.
