FC Barcelona have highlighted Chelsea midfielder Ramires as a back-up option if they fail to sign number-one target Koke from Atletico Madrid.
The Spanish giants are worried that the youngster may choose to go to the Premier League instead of join them as both Liverpool and Manchester United are interested in signing him after putting in some good performances for Atletico.
Although Barca manager Gerardo Martino already has several talented midfielders at his disposal, he appears to be looking to the future and is adamant on signing the 21-year-old, who has been labelled as ‘the next Xavi’.
However, he knows that the temptation of the Premier League may take Koke’s liking, so Martino is now putting together a back-up list and that includes Chelsea’s Ramires.
It is unknown how much Barca are willing to spend on a new midfielder, but Koke has a £17million release clause in his contract.
As for Ramire, Chelsea are adamant on not selling their crucial midfield-man.
