Gunners end Foxes’ unbeaten streak with stunning display

Arsenal became the first team to beat Leicester City this season thanks to a perfect hat-trick from Alexis Sanchez.

The Gunners went into the game after a shaky fortnight, with losses to Dinamo Zagreb and Chelsea, but they bounced back by beating Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane on Wednesday.

As for Leicester, they prevailed in the cup by beating West Ham United and also came from two goals down twice in two weeks against Aston Villa and Stoke City respectively.

However, it was the hosts who took the lead at the King Power Stadium when Jamie Vardy scored his fourth in four games, curling the ball beyond Petr Cech.

The lead only lasted five minutes however as Theo Walcott raced through on goal and kept his cool to bend the ball past Kasper Schmeichel to make it 1-1.

Arsene Wenger‘s men completed the turnaround just after the half-hour mark when Alexis Sanchez turned the ball home to score his first of the season.

Alexis doubled his tally in the second-half when he headered home a perfect Mesut Ozil cross and with nine minutes remaining the Chilean completed his hat-trick with a fine low drive from outside the box.

The Foxes did pull a goal back however when Vardy curled home once again, but it was Arsenal who had the last say when second-half substitute Olivier Giroud put the game to bed.

The emphatic win puts Arsenal fourth on 13-points, while Claudio Ranieri‘s men drop to sixth on 12 points.
