Former Chelsea legend heading to New York?

Theirry Henry has called for Didier Drogba to join him at New York Red Bulls in one last career move for the former Chelsea man. The Galatasaray star, now age 35, will be out of contract this summer and is set to move on from the Turkish club. Now Drogba is part of a tug of war between two MLS teams for his services. The teams are two of the biggest in the MLS, with one being Henry’s New York Red Bulls and the other team being the Seattle Sounders.

The Ivorian also has the chance to link up wih his former club Chelsea and become a striking coach. But the offer of a lucrative move to America to join Thierry Henry may be too much to resist.

Thierry Henry also wants to bring former teammate Ashley Cole, whose contract is also up this summer, to New York but it is the signing of Drogba that Henry believes would really excite MLS crowds. However Drogba is still very close to Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich, who would like him to rejoin the club. But if the striker did rejoin his former team, it would mean that he would have to take a large wage drop. In the MLS he could keep most of his current ÂŁ100,000 wages.

It may mean that Drogba could soon be another legend who is lighting up the MLS.
