Jaap Stam believes appointing Mauricio Pochettino as the manager would be perfect for Manchester United.
United relieved Jose Mourinho of his duties and have appointed former Red Devils Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on an interim basis. The club hierarchy has started to look out for a manager and is likely to finish the process before the season ends.
Solskjaer will have a difficult task to cut out and his primary task would be to simplify things and bring stability to the dressing room. Differences between the former manager and some of the players were pretty visible and it could be one of the reasons behind the backlash.
Stam said, “He is the best choice
“He’s got a lot of experience working in th.e UK with Southampton and Tottenham. He’s good in building a team, plays attractive football, playing out from the back to score goals and win games. I would say that’s my choice.
“I think they can [get him]. There’s been a discussion at Spurs about not spending money on players, I think he is the type of manager who wants to invest every year and improve – at United he gets to do that.
“They’ve got the money to do that. For him that would be the ultimate step.”
