Pep Guariola and Diego Simeone are considered long-term
Chelsea have reportedly four names on their interim-manager shortlist should they choose to sack Jose Mourinho.
The Blues have suffered a nightmare start to the new campaign, losing nine out of their first 16 games, leaving them 16th in the table and just one point above the drop-zone.
Talks at board level have already commenced at Stamford Bridge, sparking speculation that Mourinho doesn’t have a lot of time left at the club should their form show no sign of improvement.
So far Roman Abramovich has stood by his man and has refused to panic and sack the Portuguese, but following their 2-1 loss to Leicester City on Monday, more questions were raised.
With Pep Guardiola and Diego Simeone seen as long-term candidates, Abramovich is already considering inter-managers until the end of the season, and according to reports, there are four names on that list.
Guus Hiddink, Brendan Rodgers, Fabio Capello and Avram Grant are the four names linked with an interim role at Chelsea, with three of them working at the club beforehand.
Hiddink and Grant had spells as manager of Chelsea, while Rodgers was there as a coach.
Should Mourinho lose his job, it’s believed one of these four would be approached by Abramovich to take the job on a short-term deal until the end of the season.
