Midfielder injured his knee during Chelsea defeat
Arsenal midfielder Francis Coquelin could be out of action for a month after injuring his knee during yesterday’s 2-0 loss to Chelsea.
The Frenchman was withdrawn from the game at half-time after jarring his knee during the first 45-minutes, and after the game, Arsene Wenger confirmed that he’s unsure on how long the midfielder will be out for.
Coquelin will certainly miss Arsenal‘s Capital One Cup game on Wednesday when they travel to local-rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the third round of the competition.
Massive Blow
The news will be alarming for Gunners fans after the club failed to sign a defensive midfielder throughout the summer.
Coquelin’s injury sees them with just Mikel Arteta and Mathieu Flamini as options for the defensive midfield role.
