Representatives from Turkish club jet over to England

Galatasaray representatives have flown over to England in order to hold talks with Arsenal regarding a possible deal for Joel Campbell.

The Costa Rican was seen as a back-up figure at the Emirates Stadium, but due to injuries sustained to the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Theo Walcott, Campbell has had spells in the first-team this year.

In fact, Campbell has now moved ahead of Oxlade-Chamberlain in the pecking order under Arsene Wenger, meaning the Super Lig outfit may struggle to persuade Arsenal to sell.

Campbell has spent time away from the Emirates on loan, with spells at Olympiakos and Villarreal, but Galatasaray are keen on signing him on a permanent deal.

Despite his role in the first-team this season, Wenger is still considering the winger’s loan-term future, and he may still look to sell.

Officials in England

According to reports, Gala general secretary Fatih Isbecer has travelled to England in order to hold talks with Arsenal officials in the hope that he can persuade them to sell this month.

The two clubs have been in negotiations before, with both Lukas Podolski and Emmanuel Eboue completing moves from Arsenal to Galatasaray in recent years.
