Steven Gerrard has said that Rangers deserve to be criticised after their loss against Kilmarnock.

He also said that the 2-1 defeat in the Scottish Premiership was “painful”.

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has said that the Gers deserve to be criticised for their performance in the loss against Kilmarnock. He also added that the 2-1 defeat was a “painful” affair for the Scottish Premiership giants. The defeat leaves the Gers in the third place in the league table, which could be a big blow to their pursuit for supremacy in the SPFL this season.

Speaking to the media after the match, Gerrard lamented, “We got a lot of praise for beating Celtic. We won every single key individual battle in that game. I’m struggling to find one of them tonight. So we deserve the criticism.”

He added, “It’s even more painful because we had so much control in the first 15 minutes of the game. One moment had a huge effect on us and that’s a concern. It is a difficult one to take. A huge mistake gave Kilmarnock the opportunity to get back into the game. That moment affected the whole team and the whole atmosphere in the ground. We never recovered.”
