Gerrard to leave Anfield?

Anfield without Steven Gerrard? Surely not. He is to the Reds faithful what the Liver Bird is to the city, what the famous ferry is to the Mersey. You think about Liverpool Football Club, and you think of Stevie G…..he is synonomous with the place.

However, despite the lad from Whiston being at the club since the dawn of time, all great things have to come to an end. Things move on. Time doesn’t stand still for anyone.

The 34-year-old Anfield legend has admitted that he may be off on his travels in the summer. There has been no talk at Melwood regarding an extension to his contract, and Gerrard has made it quite clear he has no intention of retiring as yet.

So, in simple terms, Steven Gerrard, Liverpool personified, could be signing a pre-agreement with another club in January.

‘I’m only contracted until May, as it stands’ said Gerrard,

‘I’m here until the end of the season and want to make the most of it. I certainly won’t be retiring this summer. I will play beyond this season.

‘We’ll have to wait and see if that’s at Liverpool or somewhere else’.

Gerrard has made over 700 appearances for his beloved Reds, but it seems that his time at the club may be coming to an end. However, the question everyone will be asking is; who on earth are they going to replace him with?
