Napoli slap hefty price-tag on striker’s head
Napoli have slapped a £76million price-tag on the head of star-striker Gonzalo Higuain, according to reports.
The Argentinian international is once again being linked with a move away from the Serie A side, with Premier League champions Chelsea keen on landing him.
Higuain has been spoken about in every transfer window in the past few years, with Arsenal linked with him on a regular basis, but according to reports it’s their London rivals who are interested now.
However, if Chelsea do want to land Higuain, they will have to pay a massive £76m to sign him this month.
Chelsea’s Pursuit for a Striker
It’s well documented that the Blues want to land a new striker to help take the pressure off Diego Costa, but they may look elsewhere after hearing about Higuain’s price-tag.
It’s thought Alexandre Pato could be the most realistic signing, and with Napoli still wanting mega-money for Higuain, it’s looking likely he’ll be staying put in Naples.
If Chelsea do land a new striker this month, it’s likely that Loic Remy will leave the club on a short-term loan deal.
