Manchester United and Chelsea have made contact with star’s agent
Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann is expected to be in the middle of a transfer tug-of-war in January with Premier League duo Manchester United and Chelsea set to make formal bids.
The English giants were both interested in signing the Frenchman over the summer, but he decided to stay put in Spain and commit his future to Atletico.
Move to England
However, according to reports, representatives from both Old Trafford and Stamford Bridge have already held formal talks with Griezmann‘s agent and have discussed potential moves in the New Year.
The same reports are quoted as saying Griezmann is ready to move to one of Europe’s elite clubs, and he could be interested in a move to the Premier League, following in the footsteps of Diego Costa, Fernando Torres and Sergio Aguero, who also swapped Atletico for England.
The 24-year-old will cost either of the clubs around £40million after his dazzling campaign last year and the start he’s made to this season as well.
It’s a fee both United and Chelsea are prepared to pay.
