Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has called for Leroy Sane to stay focused if he wants to stay in the team. Sane did not start City’s first four Premier League games but he has started their last three matches. He scored in his first Premier League start against Fulham and assisted against Cardiff City and Brighton.
Guardiola said that he is impressed with Sane’s performance so far but said that he has to remain focused if he is to stay in the team. He said, “He’s played really well in the last games. Leroy was important, is important, will be important for us. But our profession is so demanding and every single day you have to do your best and in the last two or three games he was really good.
I want all my players to be focused and when they do that there is no problem at all, when they don’t do that they know what happens.”
Manchester City’s win over Brighton on Saturday saw them return to the top of the table. They now take on Hoffenheim Wednesday. City’s next Premier League fixture is against Liverpool on Saturday.
