Former Premier League manager Harry Redknapp has named 39-Year-Old, Thiago Silva, as the best player in Chelsea’s star-studded squad. Despite the Blues’ recent additions in top-tier players, Redknapp believes the Brazilian defender is still the club’s most valuable asset.

Redknapp stated: “Chelsea have spent a fortune in recent years but they haven’t spent it well.

Silva is still their best player and he is nearly 40!”

Silva, who joined Chelsea on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain in 2020, has defied age projections with his outstanding performances.

Additionally, a recent header against Manchester City sealed his place in Chelsea’s history as the club’s oldest goalscorer.

While Chelsea has other notable talents like as the fearsome Reece James on the right side and the talented Cole Palmer, Redknapp’s proclamation places Silva at the top of the squad’s pecking order.

Sky Sports analyst Danny Mills agreed, calling Silva magnificent, focusing on the defender’s long-term impact on the field.

Despite the rise of young talents and big-money additions, Silva’s defensive prowess and qualities of leadership continue to earn him praise, according to Redknapp, making him an invaluable asset for Chelsea.

As the veteran defender defies age projections, his impact on the field appears to be a critical component of Chelsea’s success.
