Joe Hart and James Milner are both set to be rewarded with new deals at Manchester City, reports the Daily Express.

City are keen to keep hold of the England international pairing, who have both impressed for the Citizens in the early stages of this current season, with both playing a major role in City’s title win last season.

And it appears that those performances have led to goalkeeper Hart, aged 27, and winger Milner, also aged 28, closer to a new long term deal, as City look to hang onto their homegrown talent.

The Premier League holders have been somewhat rushed into completing new deals, with Arsenal keen on Milner, and Liverpool interested in Hart. City also need to comply with UEFA’s ‘home-grown’ system for the Champions League fixtures.

Hart’s contract negotiations had been goining on for sometime without resolve, with the keeper happy to remain in Manchester for the long haul as he has two years left on his current deal at the Etihad, having recovered well from the blip of last season.

Milner however wants assurances over his squad status at the club before signing any new long term deal.
