The Gunners are hoping to tie him down to a new contract soon
Hector Bellerin is close to putting pen-to-paper on a new contract extension at Arsenal.
Barcelona have had a keen interest in the right-back and he remains one of their top transfer targets. They were hoping to take him to Spain in the summer but no move happened.
However, they are still keeping tabs on him and hope that a deal can be done. Arsenal though want to keep hold of the Spaniard, who has quickly become one of their key players.
Outstanding at right-back for Arsenal
He has been one of the Gunner’s most outstanding players over the last two seasons and he is their first-choice right-back. They don’t want him to leave and they are hoping that they can tie him down to a new deal soon to help ward off interest in him.
That new deal could be quite close, with the player’s agent reportedly holding talks about an extension of his contract last week. The talks are believed to have gone well and a new deal could be signed very soon.
It’s good news for Arsene Wenger who has been determined to secure a new deal for Bellerin to ensure he spends the next few years at the Emirates Stadium.
