Liverpool vice-captain Jordan Henderson is closing in on a new £100,000-a-week contract at Anfield.
The midfielder is in the last year of his current deal which is worth £60,000-a-week but he insists talks to committ his long-term future to the Reds are undergoing.
The England international has already rejected a five-year contract worth £80,000-a-week but insists to Liverpool fans that it’s nothing to worry about.
Henderson said: “I love playing football for Liverpool and I want to be there for many years.”
He also added: “In terms of my contract, I think everybody else will make a big deal of it but for me it’s just letting my agent and the club deal with it and whenever it gets sorted, it gets sorted.”
The 24-year old is set to become Liverpool’s new club captain next campaign, as Steven Gerrard is leaving for LA Galaxy in the summer.
