Hernandez to Real Madrid almost a done deal

Mexico striker Javier Hernandez’s move to Real Madrid appears to be a done deal after a tweet from his international boss gave a message of support.

It is thought that Hernandez, who has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford nearly all summer, is set to move to Madrid on loan for the season.

The Mexico manager Miguel Herrera wrote on Twitter:

Getting to Real Madrid is a great opportunity for @ CH14_, whom I wish the best of success!

Hernandez has had a mixed time during his four years at Old Trafford, starting his United career in fine form with 20 goals in his first season to help fire the club to the Premier League title, though his form has somewhat dipped since then.

Still, the Mexican international remains a highly regarded talent due to his impressive goalscoring record from limited appearances, and he is rated as one of the most lethal penalty box poachers in Europe.

Hernandez becomes the latest high-profile player to move between the two clubs in recent times, following the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Ruud van Nistelrooy in moving to the Bernabeu, while Angel Di Maria moved in the opposite direction earlier this month.
