Gonzalo Higuain’s contract talks with Napoli have hit the rocks, putting Premier League and Ligue 1 hotshots Chelsea and PSG on high alert.
The Striker has been in inspired form as of late, scoring 24 goals in 26 games for the Italian club.
His contract for the Serie A club ends in the summer of 2018, with a reported release clause of £78.8m.
according to Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, Higuain’s future is in doubt. The report quotes a member of Higuain’s entourage as saying: “Gonzalo is focussed on the Scudetto, this isn’t the time to talk about contracts.”
the 28 year old’s father reportedly took a trip to Naples to discuss the matter, though no meeting with the club’s president Aurelio De Laurentiis occurred.
