Holloway lead the Croydon club to promotion after the departure of former manager Dougie Freedman to Bolton Wanderers. Palace were fourth in the Championship table when Holloway arrived , after the Bristolian had resigned from Blackpool….a club where he had a very successful period at , which included winning promotion at Blackpool in the 2009/2010 campaign.

After beating bitter rivals Brighton and Hove Albion in the Semi Final an extra time winner from veteran Kevin Phillips took Palace up , with Wilfried Zaha and Glenn Murray being key components in the promotion winning campaign , before Zaha’s lucrative move to Manchester United.

Palace will now be looking for a new manager with Tony Pulis amongst the early favourites to take charge at Selhurst Park.
