Newcastle United midfielder, Moussa Sissoko, has revealed his love for Premier League rivals, Arsenal, and has admitted that he dreams of playing in the Champions League.

The 27-year-old has been a popular figure in Tyneside since his move from French side, Toulouse, back in 2013, but his recent comments won’t go down well with the Geordies who currently support him.

The Frenchman has been in real form for Newcastle this season, but his desire to play in the Champions League could force him away from St James Park, and in a recent interview, he admitted that a move to Arsenal would be a dream due to him supporting them as a child.

“Arsenal were my favourite club when I was young and my idol was Patrick Vieira,” he said.

“I have always loved this club and I still love them.

“There were a lot of rumours (about an Arsenal move) but I do not pay too much attention.

“I have an agent [Bakari Sanogo] that takes care of that. If something should happen, it will happen.

“I have ambition. My goal is to play at the best clubs, playing the Champions League, win trophies, but today I am a Magpie and I am very happy.”
