Borussia Dortmund star, Mats Hummels, has fueled speculation about his future after labelling the club as ‘pathetic’ after their woeful start to the new campaign.

The German giants are currently second-bottom of the Bundesliga and are fighting relegation whilst their fierce-rivals, Bayern Munich, are strolling away with the league before Christmas.

A 2-1 defeat over the weekend saw Dortmund fall to 17th and after the game, their captain didn’t hold back on what he thought of the side’s performances so far this season.

“We’ve managed pretty well at home in recent weeks, but not at all away.

“It’s pretty astonishing that we are so pathetic.”

Hummels has been strongly linked with a move away from Dortmund, with Premier League giants, Manchester United, Arsenal and Manchester City, all interested in signing the German.

These latest comments could boost the English club’s chances of signing the 25-year-old centre-back.
