Newcastle United midfielder, Moussa Sissoko, has revealed that despite supporting Arsenal and dreaming of playing Champions League football, he will reject any approaches they make in the January transfer window.

The Frenchman admitted in an interview the other week that he is a admirer of The Gunners and he dreams of being able to play in Europe’s top competition, sparking transfer rumours that he could make the switch to the Emirates Stadium, but today he has stated that he won’t be leaving The Magpies just yet.

Despite the 25-year-old commenting on Arsenal, it wasn’t expected that they’d make a move for the ÂŁ16million-rated midfielder, as their main priorities in January lay at the back of their team, but today Sissoko has assured Newcastle fans that he will be staying at St James Park.

“I said all along I was happy here at Newcastle.

“I will be here and trying to do my best for this club in 2015.

“I have played in different positions and on Sunday against Everton I was asked to play on the right side.

“I have played in the No 10 spot as well.

“The coach considers me an important part of the group.

“I have sometimes been handed the captain’s armband and I am very happy with my role here.”
