Chelsea goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois, has revealed that if he was in Petr Cech’s shoes, he would look to quit the club.

The veteran shot-stopper was dropped to the bench by Jose Mourinho this season, giving Courtois the chance to shine in London after impressing on-loan in Spain for the past three years.

Courtois, who was at Atletico Madrid on-loan, was given the number-one kit by Mourinho and has since then kept hold of it, leaving Cech with fringe appearances in cup competitions, and the Belgium has admitted that if he was playind second-fiddle, he would look to quit the club.

“As a goalkeeper you want to play. If I was in that situation where I didn’t play a lot, then I would leave too,” Courtois told Sky Sports.

“I think Petr is still a goalkeeper with a lot of quality and one of the best there is.”

Courtois’ comments come a day after Cech admitted that his future is down to Chelsea and it will be the club that has the final say on whether he leaves or not.
