Theo Walcott has ensured Arsenal fans that he is desperate to stay at the club and become a legend just like Thierry Henry. He has also insisted his current contract talks are not about money, but more about being given an opportunity to be a striker.

The English winger was strongly linked with a move away from the London side, but boss, Arsene Wenger, didn’t want to sell him, so he stayed. Theo and the club are in talks about a new contract and apparently, Walcott turned down the first contract they offered him.

Arsene Wenger has said that if the 23-year-old hasn’t signed a new contract soon, he may look at selling him in the January transfer window, but the Englishman has insisted that it’s not about the money.

“For me, it has never been about money. It has always been a football decision for me.

“If I had opportunities in the summer to go but if I wanted to go, I would have gone, if it was about money. It has never been that.

“The main factors for me now are I want to start playing up front. That is all it is, really.

He then went on to add: “I am just there now. Hopefully it can be sorted, because I want to stay, I want to play for Arsenal, I want to try and win things.

“I remember when Thierry Henry joined at 22 and the legend he was. Hopefully I can be the legend he was as well in that upfront position.”
