The forward’s teammate has claimed it’s unlikely he will stay

Danny Ings looks likely to leave Burnley in the summer, which will be a huge boost to Liverpool.

The forward’s teammate Scott Arfield has admitted that he doesn’t think the 22-year old will stay on the club, with the Turf Moor side having been confirmed as relegated back to the Championship next season.

Out of contract

Ings will be out of contract at the end of the season and he has been linked with a move to a top club once his current deal runs out. Liverpool are leading the race to sign him and they have been handed a huge boost with this news from Burnley today.

Arfield said to Sky Sports: “I think Danny is a fantastic player and he’s out of contract this summer so I don’t think he is going to be with us next season. Together with Sam Vokes they were on fire last season and really took us to the next level and got us over the line.

“This season, Vokes has been injured obviously but since he’s come back he’s been great, but there’s no question that Danny will be sorely missed if he moves on.”

If Arfield is right and Ings does decide to leave Turf Moor, then the Reds will be waiting in the wings to secure a deal.
