Inter Milan deal Premier League trio transfer blow

Italian side Inter Milan have dealt Premier League trio Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham a significant transfer blow by refusing to sell midfielder Fredy Guarin this month.

It’s been heavily reported in recent weeks that Guarin could be ready for a move to England with a move to Stamford Bridge the favoured destination, however, it now appears that a move is completely off the cards as Inter are desperate to keep hold of the star.

As well as Chelsea, United and Spurs have also been monitoring the 27-year-old, but Inter have dealt them all a huge blow by revealing that the midfield-man will not be leaving the club.

“Guarin is an Inter player and we are happy to keep him,” Inter’s sporting director Piero Ausilio said.

“Denying the contacts with Chelsea would be denying the evidence. It is a source of pride to talk with them about one of our players, but everything stopped there.

“We are happy Guarin could stay with us for a long time. We don’t have the intention to sell him. He’s an important player.”

The Colombian spoke about the transfer situation as well, and he has revealed that Mourinho has been in touch, but he hasn’t spoken to him personally.

“I haven’t spoken to Mourinho. My agent has done that,” he said.

“I hope that Inter are thinking about how much I really want to stay here.

“There is something going on, I can definitely not deny that.

“But now I focus only on Inter and to do well here, we’ll see in the future.”
