Inter Milan boss Roberto Mancini has pin-pointed Lucas Leiva as a transfer target in January, but admits it’ll be difficult to prize him away from Anfield.
Lucas has been only one of a few consistent performers in an uninspiring Liverpool side this season, which has sparked interest from Mancini.
”Lucas is a great player but he is a Liverpool player and it will be hard to get him. It certainly would be useful to us as he could help our youngsters grow.” Said Mancini.
Lucas has 3 years remaining on his contract at Anfield so would still command a sizeable fee should Liverpool be willing to part with their midfielder.
Inter Milan have also denied rumours linking them to Tottenham Hotspur winger Aaron Lennon, with Sporting Director Piero Ausilio saying:
”We are not interested in the Tottenham player (Lennon). He does not have the profile we are looking for.”
