The Blues launched a last-ditch effort to sign the winger as the transfer window came to a close

Chelsea had a late bid for Antonio Candreva turned down by Inter Milan yesterday, according to reports from Italy.

The Blues had been chasing a winger throughout the January transfer window and had been linked with numerous different players in that position from Candreva to Biabiany.

Biabiany rejected Blues move

Yesterday they launched a move for Biabiany, only for the winger to turn them down.

It has now been revealed that they also approached Inter about a move for Candreva, offering the Serie A side £26m for his services.

However, the 29-year old only moved to the San Siro back in the summer and they are unwilling to let him leave so soon after joining and they also wouldn’t let go of him for that fee.

Candreva has bagged six goals in 25 games since making the move to Inter and Chelsea are unlikely to lose interest in the winger and could follow up with another bid in the summer transfer window.
