Arsenal midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain admitted that it felt amazing to be scoring goals again and was delighted to score a brace during his side’s 2-0 victory over Crystal Palace on Sunday at the Emirates Stadium.

The English international gave the hosts a 46th minute lead after latching onto a superb Santi Cazorla pass, and despite an out-rushing goalkeeper, Chamberlain kept his cool and delightfully lobbed the ball into the back of the net.

He then followed that goal by scoring a powerful effort just inside the box which wrapped up all three points and took Arsenal back to the top of the league, and after the game, he admitted that it felt great to be scoring goals again.

“It’s something I want to add to my game – more goals – so it was nice to get two today.

“It’s always an amazing feeling to score a goal and especially at a stadium like the Emirates and I’m glad I can help the team with two goals.”

He added: “It was a tough game against Palace and they made it hard for us in the first half.

“But in the second half we knew if we kept the tempo up and kept wearing them down then we’d get more opportunities and we did.”
