The former Manchester United striker secured a loan deal for the winger on transfer deadline day and watched the 21-year-old inspire his side to a 2-1 victory over Norwich on Saturday.
And following his performance, Solksjaer has declared that Zaha could be a ‘proper player like Ronaldo’ if he fulfills his potential.
Reported in the Metro he said: “He is one of the best I have seen with the ball.
“He can grow up to become a proper player like Ronaldo if he wants.”
The winger had yet to make a league start at Manchester united since his summer move from Crystal Palace and had only played 28 minutes before appearing this Saturday.
His performance had obviously impressed Solksjaer but admits the only way he can be as good as Ronaldo is by showing the dedication and hard work needed to reach the top.
“He has quick feet and is brave like Cristiano and wants to go forward.
“But he has got to make a decision about how good does he want to be and how much does he love this game.”
Cardiff’s victory lifted them off the bottom of the table into 19th place and are now two points off safety.
