Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has accepted the charge from the FA regarding his rude gesture towards a Manchester City fan on Saturday, but he will contest the two-match ban that could be put on him.
The incident was not picked up my any match-day officials at the Etihad Stadium, but unfortunately for the Arsenal midfielder, it was caught on camera and he will hear back from the FA on Thursday as to whether or not his challenge has been accepted.
If it hasn’t, it means Wilshere will miss the games against Chelsea on Monday and West Ham United on Boxing Day.
