Wilshere swore and mocked rivals Tottenham

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has been charged with misconduct following his actions on the Gunners’ FA Cup victory parade.

The England international led jubilant Arsenal fans in two foul mouth, anti-Tottenham chants, that forced the club’s media channel to temporarily interrupt their live broadcast to apologise.

Wilshere apologised in the wake of the incident, but Arsenal Football Club decided to take no formal action against the player, apart from reminding him of his responsibilities.

The 23 year old has until 6pm, a week today to respond to the charge handed down by the Football Association.

He had received an official warning from the FA, regarding a similar incident at last year’s FA Cup celebrations.

FA Statement

The FA made a statement today saying:

“It is alleged his conduct in making and/or inciting certain comments during the club’s open bus trophy tour was improper and/or brought the game into disrepute.”

Wilshere took to the microphone to swear and taunt rivals Tottenham on a balcony outside the Emirates Stadium, after the team’s open top bus parade around North London.

He made a brief cameo appearance in last Sunday’s 4-0 thrashing of Aston Villa at Wembley.

The win made Arsenal the most successful club in the history of the FA Cup, with 12 wins, breaking Manchester United‘s record of 11 victories.
