Arsenal legend Stewart Robson has claimed that current Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere is ‘petulant’ and should leave the club. The 49 year old thinks the young midfielder would be able to unlock great potential if he played under a different manager.

Speaking to TalkSport, Robson said, “Wilshere lacks discipline. He wants to get onto the ball and charge into challenges, there seems to be no discipline. Who does that come from? The manager. Wenger needs to find a role for him where he knows what he’s doing with and without the ball.”

“Like many players who have gone to the top, sometimes you have to move on. At some point Jack Wilshere will have to move away from Arsenal.”

The England international is currently on the sidelines after being injured playing for his country in their 1-0 win over Denmark in early March. Arsenal’s title challenge has faultered over the recent weeks, being humiliated 6-0 away at Chelsea on Saturday, and then settling for a point at home to Swansea on Tuesday thanks to a late, dramatic own goal. The results have left them 6 points behind leaders Chelsea.
