James McArthur has hit out at Crystal Palace after their shambolic defeat at the hands of Brighton & Hove Albion.

Palace failed to maintain their tempo as they couldn’t continue their winning run. The Eagles managed to grind out a point against Manchester United and went on to register a massive win against Burnley.

But they failed to capitalise as the Seagulls got away with three points despite playing the most of the match with 10 men. Glenn Murray put the home side ahead at the stroke of 24 minutes but Brighton were reduced to a man down a few minutes later as Shane Duffy got the marching order for a violent conduct.

The Eagles should have applied more pressure after the incident but instead, Chris Hughton’s men ramped up the intensity and went on to score two more goals to snatch a crucial victory.

McArthur said,  “It was not good enough, especially in the first half. To give them three goals in not acceptable.

“Obviously the manager was not happy. Everyone knows it is not acceptable, performance or result wise.

“Even in the second half when we were pushing we did not put their goalkeeper under enough pressure when they have got 10 men. A poor performance all round and not acceptable.”
