List of clubs interested in Madrid playmaker

Real Madrid forward James Rodriguez has put Manchester United on red alert after signalling his desire to move to the Premier League this summer.

Rodriguez, 25, fell out of favour with Rafa Benitez and Zinedine Zidane last season, leading to links with a move away from the Santiago Bernabeu this summer.

The front page of daily ‘Marca’ on Saturday run with the headline ‘The Premier League tempts James’, with United’s efforts to lead a potential bidding war amongst England’s top clubs causing the player to have doubts over his future.

Madrid, who face French second tier side Stade de Reims in the Bernabeu Trophy on August 16, are reconsidering their attacking options after missing out to Barcelona on winning La Liga last season.

Colombia coach Hernan Dario Gomez urged ‘world-class’ Rodriguez to leave Madrid last month in his bid for regular first-team football.

The former Porto star may have to seek pastures new after being somewhat marginalised in the Spanish capital, despite still making 26 league appearances last term.

Madrid are reportedly willing to listen to offers starting at £67million (€80m).
