Valencia could be forced to sell Chelsea target Joao Cancelo for £26million in the summer transfer window in order to obey Financial Fair Play regulations.

The Portugal international was linked with a move to Stamford Bridge in January, with Blues boss Antonio Conte already searching for more options at wing-back ahead of next term.

La Liga outfit Valencia declined Chelsea’s interest at the time, but emerging reports from Spain now claim that they are willing to let him leave as they aim to free up transfer funds this summer.

The Spanish giants want at least £26m for the 22-year-old, which looks to be comfortably in Chelsea’s price range, according to Deporte Valenciano.

Regardless of Victor Moses’ remarkable form at right wing-back this season, Conte is keen to replace Serbia international Branislav Ivanovic, who left for Russian giants Zenit Saint-Petersburg in January.

Cancelo is versatile as he can play at right-back or midfield so it seems an ideal choice to push Moses for a regular spot on the right side in Chelsea’s well-adopted 3-4-3 formation.
