Who is better? Mykhailo Mudryk or Cole Palmer at Chelsea?

Former Chelsea midfielder Joe Cole has sparked debate by claiming that Mykhailo Mudryk may already outperform his teammate Cole Palmer in certain aspects of the game. This suggestion came after both players scored in Chelsea’s thrilling 3-2 win over Newcastle United.

Joe Cole told Premier League productions:

“When Cole Palmer signed for the club there was a lot of eyebrows raised but he is so intelligent. When you watch Mudryk it is like a young player who excites you but with Palmer, he could be 31 not 21. The fans here absolutely love him.

“There is a player in Mudryk somewhere. When you watch him live you can see the scope for him to get better. The stuff Cole Palmer is so good at, Mudryk can do better. He needs to improve but he has such outstanding natural talent.”

While Palmer has come to be as Chelsea’s new phenomenon, with 13 goals and 11 assists in 33 games, Cole adds that Mudryk, despite a lack of consistent starting opportunities, offers admirable qualities. The 22-year-old Ukrainian winger has six goals and three assists in 29 appearances, showing signs of potential.

Cole recognizes Palmer’s potential, pointing up his great football IQ and consistency. He does, however, argue that Mudryk may have an edge in several physical traits, including speed and strength.

Despite Palmer’s rapid rise, Cole indicates Mudryk’s persistence and support from the sidelines, showing a desire for success within the Chelsea ranks.

While Palmer looks to have a greater ceiling, Cole’s observations indicate that Mudryk has the capacity to match or even surpass him in certain areas.

Chelsea fans anticipate an exciting path of growth and competition between these young stars, as both have the opportunity to evolve together within the Blues’ starting lineup. Jamie Carragher reiterated similar sentiment, praising Mudryk’s recent performance against Newcastle.
