Chelsea captain, John Terry, has posted a heartfelt and emotional tribute to Frank Lampard on his Instagram, despite the ex-Blues midfielder scoring a late equaliser against his former-club at the Etihad Stadium.

With the game nearing it’s conclusion, and Chelsea winning 1-0 thanks to an Andre Schurrle goal, Lampard popped up just inside the box and volleyed home past Thibaut Courtois in the 85th minute, which gave 10-man City a point against the league-leaders.

After the game, Lampard was clearly emotional and in shock about what just happened on the field, and despite preventing their side from winning away at the champions yet again, the Chelsea fans gave Lampard a standing ovation at the end of the match.

Lampard’s name was sung out loud all around the stadium when he came off the bench, and after the game, the same happened, despite him scoring.

After the match, former team-mate, Terry, posted this on his official Instagram account:

‘It felt strange playing against Lamps today and seeing him in a Man City shirt. Unbelievable reception the Chelsea fans gave to a true Legend today that has Chelsea in is heart forever, I really hope Lamps gets the opportunity to receive that reception at the Bridge one day. Good point today that keeps us 3 points clear at the top of the premier league.’
