The defender could return to international football
Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has given John Terry the nod ahead of a possible England return for the centre-back.
The 35-year-old has been given a Three Lions lifeline by new boss Sam Allardyce, who is set to name his first England squad this Sunday.
During Conte’s pre-Burnley press conference, he answered questions regarding the speculation.
‘I know this situation’
“I’m a former international team coach so I know this situation and prefer it to be solved between Sam Allardyce and John Terry. That’s the right way,” said the Italian.
“John Terry has a great attitude during training and is working very hard. I’m very happy with his commitment.
“But for the international team, it is important for it to be solved between Sam Allardyce and John Terry,” added Conte.
