John Terry is on the verge of joining Spartak Moscow, according to various reports. The Former Chelsea skipper has undergone a medical at the club if sources are to be believed.
The 37 year old is currently a free agent since he left Aston Villa at the end of the last season. The former England international had a pretty productive spell at the Midlands where he lent solidity to the Villa backline as they came very close to gain promotion to the Premier League.
Steve Bruce has been pretty unimpressive about his side’s defensive performance this season and may have wanted to bring him back to the Villa Park. The defender even hinted on a possible return a few days ago. “I loved my time at Aston Villa.
“I am still devastated that we didn’t go up. The manager, players and supporters were incredible with me but I hate losing and I feel there is unfinished business there.
“Steve Bruce is a great man and with the backing of the new owners, Steve will hopefully get the club back into the Premier League.
“Don’t get me wrong, if I don’t play again I am content with what has been an unbelievable career, but I’m still hungry to go and play if everything around it is right. If it’s right for me and my family.”
