Man United set to miss out on midfielder Andre Gomes
Manchester United look set to miss out on Valencia midfielder Andre Gomes, as his agent has flown to Italy to finalise a move for his client with Serie A giants Juventus.
Gomes has been in fine form for Valencia this season and has made 38 appearances in all competitions, scoring two goals in what has been a disappointing campaign for the Spanish side.
As a result, the club are said to be resigned to losing some of their star players like Gomes and are also on the brink of selling Shkodran Mustafi to Liverpool, according to reports.
SuperDeporte journalist Dani Merono revealed today United are ‘really interested’ in the 22-year-old midfielder.
“The team really interested in Andre Gomes is Manchester,” he told Radio Esport Valencia.
And it is said Jose Mourinho’s close ties with his agent Jorge Mendes mean the club are hopeful of securing a deal for the Portugal international.
However, reports in Italy today suggest the Red Devil’s deal for Gomes is looking increasingly unlikely as Mendes is set for talks with Juventus.
