Former-Chelsea boss hasn’t written to Manchester United

Jorge Mendes has rubbished reports claiming his agent Jose Mourinho has written a six-page letter to Manchester United claiming he will change his style in order to become their new manager.

Reports emerged late last night that the former-Chelsea boss had written out a letter to the officials at Old Trafford, pleading with them to give him the job.

It was claimed that he expressed his interest in the role and also stated that he would change his tactics and managerial approach in order to become Louis van Gaal‘s successor.

However, Mendes moved quickly to comment on those reports and he was quick to dismiss them.

‘Absolutely Ridiculous and Totally Absurd’

“It does not occur to anyone that a coach like Jose Mourinho can write letters to clubs offering their services,” Mendes said.

“It is absolutely ridiculous and totally absurd.”

Mourinho has been out of a job since being sacked by Chelsea back in December, but he is hotly tipped to replace under-fire Van Gaal, who faced more pressure over night following their 1-0 loss to Southampton.
