Jose Enrique hits out at Jose Mourinho’s tactics

Liverpool defender Jose Enrique has taken a swipe at Jose Mourinho’s tactics after Chelsea crashed out of the Champions League to Atletico Madrid.

Following a shut-out in Spain last week, Mourinho’s team selection raised eyebrows as he started with six recognised defenders on the pitch for the second leg at Stamford Bridge.

However, the move badly backfired as Diego Simeone’s side came from behind to win 3-1 and book a final showdown with La Liga rivals Real Madrid.

Fernando Torres had given Chelsea the perfect start, only for Adrian to haul the visitors level on the stroke of half-time before goals from Diego Costa and Arda Turan after the break saw them comfortably through.

And Reds star Enrique was quick to put the boot in when he tweeted: ‘This is what happens when you don’t play football……’

The Liverpool left-back was still clearly reeling about Chelsea’s smash-and-grab raid at Anfield on Sunday when the Blues ran out 2-0 winners, despite being under the cosh for most of the game.

The defeat dealt a massive blow to Brendan Rodgers’ side’s title hopes, with Manchester City now favourites to win the championship.
