Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has apparently rejected several strikers offered to him because he wants to wait to sign Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney in the Summer.
The Blues boss has been complaining about the lack of fire-power in his squad all season, with the likes of Demba Ba, Fernando Torres and Samuel Eto’o all failing to score frequently.
It was widely reported that Mourinho was close to making moves for Monaco’s striker Radamel Falcao and FC Porto’s striker Jackson Martinez, but it is now apparent that he will wait until the Summer to try and lure Rooney away from Old Trafford.
According to sources close to Mourinho, he has rejected several strikers that have been offered to him so that he can wait until the Summer to convince the English striker to join Stamford Bridge.
Rooney was reportedly unhappy at United at the end of last season, but since then, he has been in superb form for The Red Devils, but with David Moyes’ side failing to perform so far this campaign, a potential move in the Summer could be on the cards.
