Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has provided a fitness update ahead of their Champions League clash against Juventus in the Champions League and has revealed Alexis Sanchez won’t be able to participate in this match.
This crucial match which is also touted as the homecoming of Cristiano Ronaldo has its own importance as the Red Devils need to grind out something from this game in a bid to break into the next stage.
Juventus are currently topping the group H and a win for the home side at the Old Trafford would see them claiming the top spot. Sanchez came off the bench in the 2-2 draw against Chelsea but he didn’t train with the squad.
Later Mourinho confirmed the player is set to miss the match due to an injury. “The players you saw are the players that are available,
“[We have] Nothing to hide and Alexis is out.”
He also added Antonia Valencia could be featured in this match. “The reason is he was 10 days without training with a problem.
“Not an injury but a problem that he had very complicated surgery on his mouth.
”And 10 days without training meant he needed a little bit of time to recover some level after that.“
Diogo Dalot, Phil Jones, Marouane Fellaini, Jesse Lingard and Scott McTominay are among the other absentees.
