Chelsea boss had meeting with board last night following Southampton defeat
Jose Mourinho WON’T be sacked by Chelsea Football Club despite losing yet again yesterday, according to reports.
Mourinho watched on yesterday, in front of Roman Abramovich, as his side fell to a 3-1 defeat to Southampton at Stamford Bridge, leaving them 16th in the table with just two league wins.
The Premier League champions are already way off Manchester City and Mourinho’s job was reportedly on the line.
However, following the shocking home defeat, Mourinho met up with the Chelsea board, including Abramovich, and survived the meeting.
According to reports, the Blues board has backed the Portuguese to turn the season around and won’t be sacking him just yet despite the run of poor results.
After the game yesterday, Mourinho was in fighting mood as he spoke to the media, declaring he would never walk away and if he was to be sacked, the club would have sacked their best manager ever.
Luckily for him however, his job is safe for now.
