Chelsea boss insists the players have no power anymore
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has insisted that the players have no power over their futures anymore at Stamford Bridge.
In recent years in the transfer market, the majority of deals are decided and pushed through by the players and ‘player power’ is potentially making it hard for clubs and managers to have a say in deals.
No More Player-Power
However, Mourinho has now insisted that there will be no more player power at Chelsea and the leadership of the club will be all through him and not the players.
Chelsea could lose Petr Cech over the Summer after he’s struggled to break into the first-team due to Thibaut Courtois, but Mourinho has insisted that players will only leave if he wants them to leave.
Mourinho said: “Chelsea leadership is my leadership. For good and for bad. It’s not the players’ leadership.”
When asked if that even applied on the pitch, the Chelsea manager was adamant: “Yes.”
